Burlington, IA- The Iowa Lakes baseball team is set to take on the Blackhawks from Southeastern Community College on March 31st and April 1st. It will be Iowa Lake's first conference series on the year while the Blackhawks opened up conference play last week against Iowa Central Community College. The Lakers are 6-13 (0-0 ICCAC), as Southeastern holds a record of 19-8 (2-2 ICCAC).
Starters Mitch Sparks and Marcel d'Avoine lead Iowa Lake's pitching staff. Sparks (2-3) holds an ERA of 3.04 through 26.2 innings with 18 strikeouts and 3 walks in 5 appearances and 4 starts. d'Avoine (1-2) posts an ERA of 4.02 with 13 strikeouts and 7 earned runs in 15.2 innings. Beau Britton and Joe Fitka lead the bullpen. Britton has not allowed a run in four appearances and three strikeouts in five innings of work.
