NIACC Sweeps Lakers

Estherville, IA – Iowa Lakes held two games against NIACC at home on Monday April 17. The Lakers fell in game one 10-4 and lost game two 8-2.

Game one

BJ Johnson had two hits and two runs for the Lakers reaching both times on singles.

The other two runs came from Tavan Shahidi and Marcus Wohl. Shahidi reached on an error from the shortstop while Wohl reached on a fielder's choice.  Mikey Adams drove in Johnson early in the first inning. Ashtin Moxey also drove in Shahidi with a base hit to right field.

Pitching for the game was started with Drew Grubb who pitched three and one third innings allowing five hits, six runs, three walks, two hit by pitches, and three strikeouts. Zach Meyer finished the day with two innings pitched allowing three runs, two walks, one hit y pitch, and no hits. Joe Fitka ended the game on the mound throwing one and two thirds innings with three hits, one run, and two strikeouts.

Game two

Iowa Lakes lost 8-2. Starter Martin Eckard threw well pitching five plus innings allowing one unearned run, two strikeouts, three hits, three walks, and one hit by pitch.

The two runs came from the bat of Mikey Adams when he deposited his fourth home run of the season to left field to drive in Grant Becher.

Beau Britton came on in relief throwing one and two thirds inning allowing five runs, five hits, one walk, and one strikeout. Mitch Ebben Threw for two and one third innings allowing two runs, two walks, two hits, and two strikeouts.

Iowa Lakes is 13-24 (1-11 ICCAC) on the season and will host Century College on Tuesday April 18 at Hess-Limberg Field in Estherville.
