Waterloo, IA- Iowa Lakes travelled down to Waterloo, Iowa to play Ellsworth Community College in the play in Region XI Tournament game. Iowa Lakes Played hard but fell to Ellsworth 8-5.
Starter Drew Grubb allowed 7 runs in the first two innings of the game putting Iowa Lakes in a big hole early. Iowa Lakes found some life scoring two runs in the top of the third after BJ Johnson reached third on an error by the centerfield and was driven in by Bo Lovdahl on a single to left center. Joe Fitka stepped in the box and roped a double down the left field line scoring Bo Lovdahl making it 7-2 Ellsworth. Ellsworth's offense was quiet for a bit. Mikey Adams came up with two runners on in the fifth inning and hit his sixth home run of the season over the left field fence cutting the Ellsworth lead to two. Grubb gave up the final run of the game in the fifth inning after allowing his third home run of the game. The Lakers could not get any more offense going for the rest of the game. Iowa Lakes lost 8-5 and finished the season 19-37 on the year.
