Baseball has Three Players Recieve Region Honors

Estherville, IA- Iowa Lakes Baseball had three players who received honors from the All-Region Voting.

BJ Johnson, Mikey Adams, and Tavan Shahidi all received honorable mention for the Region XI in the 2017 season.

BJ Johnson the freshman outfielder for the Lakers, finished the season playing in 47 games, hitting .333, stole 19 bases, hit 2 home runs, had 52 hits, 1 triple, and 7 doubles. Johnson defensively, fielded .978 with two outfield assists and 86 putouts in right field.

Mikey Adams the sophomore shortstop for the Lakers ended the 2017 season playing in 49 games, hitting .262, hit 6 home runs, had 28 RBIs, 12 doubles, 45 hits, and 29 runs scored. Defensively he finished the year fielding .898.

Freshman catcher Tavan Shahidi finished his season playing in 54 games, hitting .291, had 6 home runs, 14 doubles, 1 triple, 46 hits, and 29 RBIs for the Lakers. Defensively, Tavan played catcher, first base, and third base finishing the year with a .966 fielding percentage and throwing out 7 of the 16 stolen base attempts from behind the plate.
