The Men's Basketball team is on a six game win streak, with their latest victory over Kansas City Kansas Community College. Four players scored double digits. Dennis Joiner, Streeter McIlravy, and Tywon Bressler scored 11, 13, and 10 points respectively. Cody Cox lead the way with 16 points. In the second half, the Lakers shot 66.7% from the three-point arc. The Lakers are looking to continue their shooting streak against Marshalltown.
NJCAA Division I Marshalltown is 11-4 entering Wednesday's match up against Iowa Lakes. The Tigers are on a two game win streak, with a win against Iowa Central on December 10th. When asked about keys to winning the game Coach Larson stated, "We need to limit #3 (Jamir Coleman) and #4 (Mohamed Thiam) offensively and on the boards. They are high impact collegiate players." Mohamed Thiam, #4, is averaging a double-double with 13.3 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game. Jamir Coleman, #3, is leading the Tigers in scoring with an average of 13.5 points per game.
Coach Larson was a little concerned about his team coming into Wednesday night's game, "You never know where the team will be (mentally) during finals week, but we will look to defend home court and perform well in front of our home crowd."
