Crowder named NJCAA Athlete of the Week
  1. Estherville, IA-  Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball player Amiri Crowder has been named both NJCAA Nathonal Athlete of the Week and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference player of the week for the week of November 7th- November 13th. 

Crowder led the Lakers to 2 victories last week. Their  first game of the week saw Crowder and the Lakers down NJCAA 9th ranked Johnson County on their home floor 77-76. In the contest, Crowder would go for 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting, while going 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Crowder would also grab 3 rebounds. In their second game of the week, the Lakers would take on Highland Communtiy College of Kansas. They would down Highland 93-81.  In that contest, Crowder would go for 23 points on 10 of 11 shooting including 2 for 2 from 3. For the season Crowder is averaging 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest. He is shooting 63% from the floor and 67% from 3. 

Coach Larson had this to say about Crowder, "Amiri is a good player. He is tough and makes plays when they need to be made."

The NJCAA 10th ranked Iowa Lakes next contest will be Friday, November 18th vs Bryant and Stratton as part of the Emerson Classic in Marshalltown, IA . The tip will be at 3:00 PM. Their next home contest will be November 26th  when they take on Southeast Community College as part of the Iowa Lakes Classic. That game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
