Isaiah Williams - Iowa Lakes - Sophomore - Guard
Isaiah Williams was huge down the stretch during the Iowa Lakes win over Ellsworth in the Region 11 semifinals. Williams knocked down back-to-back threes with just under three minutes left in the game to take a 72-70 lead to 78-70 advantage -- giving the Lakers control. In three games last week, Williams averaged 18.6 points per game and 4 rebounds to boot. He did all of this while being tasked to guard the opponents best players. Iowa Lakes returns the Region 11 Championship game -- their first since 2021 where they beat Southwestern to advance to the national tournament.
Division II Softball (Pitcher)
MacKenna Jones - Iowa Lakes - Sophomore - RPH
MacKenna Jones got a lot of work in the circle in the Lakers opening week of softball last week. Jones threw 18. 1 innings in four appearances, ending the week with a perfect 3-0 record while also picking up a save. She didn't allow a single run, and struck out an incredible 42 batters -- well over two batters per inning. In one game, Jones took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and in another she took a perfect game into the seventh inning. She allowed just four hits and two walks. Iowa Lakes is receiving votes after their 6-0 start.
Division II Softball (Player)
Brynn Bohmann - Iowa Lakes - Sophomore - Shortstop
Brynn Bohmann has continued her offensive production from last season for Iowa Lakes with an outstanding week. In six games, Bohmann went 17 for 24 (.708) that saw nine extra base hits. She had four doubles, a triple and four homers. She accounted for 28 runs -- driving in 16 and scoring 12. She also stole two bases. Against Cloud County (Kan.) Bohmann hit the game winning homer in the top of the sixth to give the Lakers a 6-5 win -- and a perfect 6-0 record last week. Right now Bohmann is fourth in NJCAA Division II in slugging percentage (1.458), seventh in batting average (.708) and ninth in on-base percentage (.720).
