Iowa Lakes Honors Sophomores

Before the Lakers opening match of the 2016 Region XI Tournament against NIAAC, nine sophomores: Trey Hookfin, Olamide Onajide, Yago Ramos, Freddy Fragozo, Renato Silva, Gustavo Nascimento, Felipe Giancoli, Jack Stonehouse, and Enoch Duval, were all honored for their Iowa Lakes' career. Trey, a goalkeeper from Spencer, IA, played in four games and starting in three of those. He allowed only one goal in his only season for the Lakers. Olamide, a midfielder from Providence, Rhode Island, represented the Lakers in five games over his two years as a Laker. During that time, Olamide scored one goal. Yago, a defender from Santa Catarina, Brazil, captained his Laker team during his last year. Yago played in 24 matches, starting in 21 of them; he scored two goals and provided two assists. Freddy, a forward and midfielder from Aurora, Colorado, played in 26 games over the course of his Laker career. He started in 23 of those matches, scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists. Renato, a midfielder from Sao Paulo, Brazil, played in 22 games, starting in seven and scoring 11 goals while providing four assists. Gustavo, along with Yago, captained the Lakers during his final year as well. Gustavo hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil and played in 27 games while starting in 24 of those. He scored nine goals and provided seven assists during his time as a Laker. Felipe, also from Sao Paulo, played in 19 games, strating two of those and scoring three goals while giving one assist. Jack, a midfielder from Hartlepool, England, played in 25 games, starting 16 of them. He scored eight goals and provided nine assists. Lastly, Enoch, a midfielder from Marion, IA, played in 16 games while starting eight. He scored eight goals and provided six assists during his only year with the Lakers. It's with great honor that we thank these sophomores for their commitments over the past two years. What this class has done for this Lakers' program is quite magnificent and we wish them all nothing but the best of luck in their future endeavors.
