Purdue Northwest University has signed an Iowa Lakes Community College Men's Soccer player.
Renato Silva, midfielder, appeared in 12 games for the Lakers. He registered 9 goals in his sophomore season – third highest scorer for the season – with two of his goals being game winners. He also added 4 assists to his statistics.
"I felt honored to be able to attend Iowa Lakes for two years," Silva said. "I want to especially thank the coaching staff – and my teammates – for giving me the opportunity to continue my career both as a student and as an athlete."
He also offered a special thanks to the community of Spencer for "making me feel 'at home' while I was away from my home country of Brazil."
Looking at his next step, Silva stated "I am very excited to join the soccer squad at Purdue Northwest. It will be an exceptional fit for me as I want to major in engineering and I feel that Purdue Northwest has a great program where I will have the right tools to succeed."
