SPENCER, IOWA- The #9 ILCC Men's soccer team opened up the season with a win against Hawkeye Community College on a windy Friday afternoon in Spencer.

Freshmen Leonardo Seixas opened the scoring for the Lakers in the 36th minute from a Jose-Miguel Boggio assist. Seixas shot took a deflection which ended in the back of the Hawkeye net. The Lakers would go into halftime up 1-0.

The Lakers would get on the scoreboard again in the 63rd minute. When Sophomore Sofian Maghouz scored from 15 yards outside the Hawkeye box, assisted by David Owusu. This stretched the Lakers lead 2-0.

Leonardo Seixas got on to the Lakers scoresheet again with a goal in the 73rd minute, assisted by David Owusu. Seixas would finish the game with two goals and Owusu with two assists. 

Final score 3-0 Lakers. Iowa Lakes moves to (1-0-0) on the season.

The Lakers will host NIACC this Wednesday, April 7th at 1 pm.
