OTTUMWA, IA- After coming off a tough 2-1 loss in overtime to Iowa Central last Thursday, the Lakers bounced back with a crushing road win over ICCAC rival Indian Hills 7-2.
Jamaican striker Jason Dyer wasted no time getting the Lakers on the board, just two and a half minutes into the game courtesy of a pass from fellow Jamaican Odal Brown. Sofian Maghouz would add to the lead eighteen minutes later converting a penalty kick won by Leonardo Seixas. The Lakers would be awarded another penalty kick fifteen minutes later when sophomore Raz Levy was taken down inside the Warrior box. David Owusu would step up to convert the kick making it 3-0 to the Lakers. Before the first half would conclude defender Lewis Nohar made it 4-0 with a pass from Leo Seixas. The Lakers would head into halftime 4-0.
At the start of the second half, Indian Hills would respond with a goal from the penalty kick spot putting them within three. However, twenty minutes later Leonardo Seixas would find freshmen David Owusu outside of the Warrior box for a great finish that would extend the lead back to four. Owusu would finish the game with two goals and one assist.
Just two minutes later Sofian Maghouz would find the back of the Warrior net again compliments of David Owusu. Indian Hills would grab one more goal nine minutes later off of a corner kick putting the score at 6-2.
The Lakers would find one more goal from their Jamaican connection when Odal Brown set up Jason Dyer's second goal of the game with just three minutes left to play. Giving the Lakers a 7-2 victory over Indian Hills.
The Lakers will host Marshalltown CC this Wednesday, April 21st at 1 pm in Spencer.
