#9 Iowa Lakes Extends Winning Streak with Dominant Week Over Hawkeye and Marshalltown

October 20, 2025 – Spencer, IA — The #9 nationally ranked Iowa Lakes Lakers continued their impressive run of form last week, earning back-to-back victories with a 5–2 home win over Hawkeye Community College and a 3–0 road shutout at Marshalltown Community College.

Iowa Lakes 5–2 Hawkeye (October 15 – Home)

In front of a strong home crowd, the Lakers displayed offensive firepower and resilience after entering halftime tied 2–2.

Sharif Nata N'tcha opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing a pass from Sam Macauley. Just 20 seconds later, Jugene Wessels doubled the lead, assisted by Renato Gonzalez and Florent Lefebvre.

After the break, the Lakers took full control. Sam Macauley netted his first goal for Iowa Lakes in the 52nd minute from another Gonzalez assist. Florent Lefebvre added a fourth in the 60th minute off a Rayan Perrot Bouziyane feed, before Emmanuel Benazra sealed the result in the 76th minute from a Lefebvre assist.

Iowa Lakes 3–0 Marshalltown (October 18 – Away)

The Lakers carried their momentum on the road, calmly controlling the match from start to finish. Iowa Lakes tallied 22 shots while holding Marshalltown without a single shot on goal.

Florent Lefebvre continued his outstanding week with goals in the 38th and 66th minutes—both coming from his center-back position. Rashidi Ishiwbami capped the scoring in the 68th minute, assisted by Zenn Thiele and Lefebvre.

Looking Ahead

The Lakers now turn their focus to a huge conference showdown on Wednesday, October 22, when they travel to face #17 Iowa Central. With Iowa Lakes currently sitting at #9 in the NJCAA National Poll, the matchup presents a major opportunity to climb even higher in the rankings.
