This past weekend at the Coyote Invite concluded the regular season for the Laker Swimming and Diving team.
The meet started friday with the 200 Freestyle relay which consisted of Freshman Jochem Lemmens, Roberto Suarez, Ethan Heideyer and Sophomore Grant Bumsted. They fought hard for a new season best time of 1:31.45. Freshman ladies Josey Saxton and Emma graff competed in the 50 free with Saxton earning a 32.15 and graff earning a 26.68 both season best times!
Lemmens swam the 500 free for the first time this season, earning a 5:02.46. Suarez also swimming the 500 free in 5:06.33.
the 50 Free was the next event for the Lakers, Sophomore Lucas Neuvonen swam a 24.64, Suarez swam a 23.52, Bumsted a 22.99 and Heideyer 21.46. The 400 Medley relay was built of Heideyer, Lemmens, Bumsted and Suarez earning a season best time of 3:40.83.
Saturday morning brought more events. Earning another season best time, 200 Medley relay got a 1:40.43. Neuvonen in the 100 fly got a season best time of 1:01.57, Bumsted earning a 54.56 and Heideyer swimming it in 51.22. Lemmens coming up with a season best time of 4:27.53 in the 400 IM. Neuvonen swimming the 100 Breast in 1:11.10 and Suarez closing out the mornig with the 1650, dropping almost an entire minute he landed a season best time of 17:26.47. Graff swam a season best time in the 100 Breast going a 1:10.46. Saxton also swimming a best time in the 100 Backstroke with a 1:26.39.
Saturday afternoon wrapped up with Bumsted and Heideyer swimming the 100 IM, bumsted with a 57.92 and Heideyer with a 53.74. Lemmens earning a best time in the 200 Backstroke witha 2:03.44. Saxton and Graff both earning best times in the 100 free, saxton with a 1:10.56 and Graff with a 57.76 and the men wrapping up with neuvonen going a 56.22, Bumsted swimming in 53.88 and Suarez swimming with a season best time of 51.64.
THis concluded the Lakers regular season! Now they will begin the prep for the National Swimming and Diving Championship on March 4-7th!
