Kolodzienski to Play at Indiana University-Columbus

Iowa Lakes Softball player, Morgan Kolodzienski, has recently signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Indiana University-Columbus. She will be studying Elementary Education at the institution located in Columbus, Indiana.

Kolodzienski had this to say about choosing Indiana University-Columbus, "I chose IU Columbus because Coach Tommi's program is similar to Coach Katie's, and I enjoy her program a lot. They focus on the classroom just as much as they focus on the field. I am looking forward to continuing my athletic and academic career as well as making new teammates."

Kolodzienski is the daughter of Jacob and Kristen Kolodzienski. She is from Ellsworth, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Ellsworth High School.

In her first year as a Laker, Kolodzienski suffered an injury that sidelined her for a good portion of the year. Because of this, she appeared in just 18 games for the Lakers. In her 58 total chances, she recorded 55 putouts and a .948 fielding percentage. Kolodzienski was selected as an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and an ICCAC 1st Team Academic All-Region member.

Coach King had this to say about Kolodzienski, "Morgan is a special student-athlete and a great leader. She is the first one to arrive at practice and the first one to volunteer to help when needed. She puts in extra work to make herself better, but then also gives up her free time to catch or workout with a teammate. If you could have a team full of Morgan's, you would enjoy coming to work every day. I cannot wait to continue to watch Morgan develop. She is going to do some amazing things in life, and I am glad we got to be part of her story".

As for her time at Iowa Lakes, Kolodzienski had this to say, "My time at Iowa Lakes has given me many opportunities on and off the field. We get to have fun on the field and give back to the community as well. I am so grateful to have made a lot of long-lasting relationships. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and continues to support me all the time."
