Iowa Lakes Softball player, Morgan Fine, has recently signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Morningside University. She will be studying Exercise Science at the institution located in Sioux City, Iowa.
Fine had this to say about choosing Morningside University, "I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to continue playing softball at Morningside University. They have a very competitive program and hold high standards for their players on and off the field. Huge thanks to Coach Pruner and the rest of the staff for believing in me and allowing me to continue playing the sport I love for the next two years. I cannot wait to be a Mustang!"
Fine is the daughter of Todd and Mandy Fine. She is from Spirit Lake, Iowa, where she graduated from Spirit Lake High School.
In her first year as a Laker, Fine was a Third Team NJCAA Academic All-American, and NFCA/Easton All-America Scholar Athlete, and a 1st Team ICCAC Academic All-Region selection. This season, Fine has appeared in eight games and thrown 27.2 innings. She has a 1.81 WHIP and a 4.81 strikeouts per seven innings.
Coach King had this to say about Fine, "I am so glad that Morgan gets to show what type of pitcher she is this year. Due to her injury last season, she had limited innings and was not 100%. She has worked hard to come back stronger than before, and it shows. Beyond the field, Morgan is a great young lady. She is always filled with a joy that makes every person around her want to be a better person. We wish Morgan the best of luck next year and cannot wait to continue to watch her develop as an athlete and person at Morningside."
"I am so grateful to have been a part of the Iowa Lakes softball program the past two years. I owe so much to the coaching staff here. They have helped me grow more than I ever could have imagined, not just as a player but as a person. As I worked back from an injury last season, they continued to push me to come back stronger than before. I have also been so blessed to have gained some of the best friendships throughout my time here. Super excited for this next chapter in my softball career!" Commented Fine.
