Christians Continuing Career at Mount Marty University

Iowa Lakes Softball player, Korilynn Christians, has recently signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Mount Marty University. She will be studying Sonography at the institution located in Yankton, South Dakota.

Christians had this to say about choosing Mount Marty University, "After two years, I chose to transfer to Mount Marty University to continue my education and softball career at a higher level. I wanted to challenge myself athletically while experiencing a larger campus environment and new opportunities. I felt Mount Marty was the right fit for helping me work toward my long-term goals both in the classroom and in softball."

Christians is the daughter of Cory and Michelle Christians. She is from Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated from Millard Noth High School.

In her career as a Laker, Christians has played in 111 games. She racked up 144 hits with 34 doubles, 1 triple, and 20 home runs. She drove in 104 of her teammates, while scoring 117 times herself. Christians also swiped 31 bases and had 8 outfield assists. You can find Christians in the Iowa Lakes Softball record book for career homeruns, where she is tied for 10th. For her efforts, Christians was named to the ICCAC All-Region 2nd Team as a freshman and to the ICCAC All-Region Honorable Mention Team her sophomore year.

Coach King had this to say about Christians, "I am very glad I had the opportunity to coach Korilynn the past two years. Her ability to challenge and make you think has made me a better coach and person. On the field, she was a great offensive presence in our lineup that will be missed next year. I am excited to continue to be part of Kori's story and watch her grow. Mount Marty is lucky to be having her join their community!"

"I chose to begin my college career at Iowa Lakes because it gave me the opportunity to continue playing softball while staying close to home and building a strong academic foundation. The smaller environment allowed me to grow as both a student and an athlete, while also giving me the chance to develop my skills and gain experience on the field." Commented Christians.
