Iowa Lakes Softball player Marrissa Miller has signed to continue her athletic and academic career at Indiana Tech, where she will study Criminal Justice at the institution in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Miller had this to say about choosing Indiana Tech: "Choosing Indiana Tech was an easy decision because it gives me the best opportunity to continue growing both academically and athletically. I really connected with the vision for the program and felt it was the right environment to help me reach my goals on and off the field."
Miller is the daughter of Veronica Fogal and Bret Fogal. She is from Monticello, Illinois, where she graduated from Monticello High School.
During her time as a Laker, Miller was named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region Team. She finished her career with a .300 batting average and a .411 on-base percentage. Miller stole 39 bases while scoring 63 runs. She currently ranks sixth in Iowa Lakes Softball history in career walks with 52.
Coach King had this to say about Miller: "I have never met someone who is more of a spitfire than Marrissa. She is ultra-competitive and loves to cause havoc on the bases. She is one of those players that, when she is playing, your eye is automatically drawn to her. Her passion for softball oozes from her every time she steps on the field, and she will be missed next year. I cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes at Indiana Tech!"
"My time at Iowa Lakes helped me develop my skills, build confidence, and learn the value of attitude and effort. I'm grateful for my coaches, teammates, and everyone at Iowa Lakes for helping me get to this point, and I am excited to represent Indiana Tech and see what the future holds," said Miller.
