The Iowa Lakes women's basketball team had a bounce back victory with a 69-62 win over Dordt JV. With the win Iowa Lakes improves to 1-1.
The Lakers were led by Jaeda Whitner with 17 points. The Lakers had a very balanced scoring attack with Ihari Oromo adding 9 points, Brielle Bartelt and Rachel Puok adding 8 points a piece.
Dordt were led by Josie Drooy and Eliana Kuperus with 12 points a piece.
Head Coach Ashley Martin had this to say about the game, "Loved our girls energy tonight. I thought we took a step forward tonight. We are starting to carry things over from practice to games."
The Lakers are 1-1 on the season. The Lakers will travel to Overland Park, KS this weekend to compete in the Johnson County Classic. They will play Fort Scott Community College Friday, November 12th at 5:00pm and Johnson County Community College on Saturday, November 13th at 12:00pm.
