Basketball - Division II
Zoey Wooten – Iowa Lakes – Sophomore – Guard
Iowa Lakes pounded NJCAA Division III Ridgewater last week, 89-58, and Zoey Wooten's performance was eye-popping. The sophomore guard filled the stat sheet in nearly all categories. She scored 29 points on 13 made field goals, including 3 for 8 from downtown. She added eight rebounds, six assists and had nine steals. Wooten leads the Lakers in scoring this season at 14.6 per game. Iowa Lakes opened up conference play last Tuesday against ICCAC newcomer Central on the road in Columbus, NE and won 84-74. Wooten scored 18 points, 7-14 from the field and 3-5 from the 3 point line. The Lakers are currently 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Lakers next home game is Wednesday, December 2nd vs Northeast CC out of Norfolk, NE at 5:30pm.
