Iowa Lakes Cruises Past Ellsworth 41–3

 

The Iowa Lakes wrestling team turned in a dominant performance against Ellsworth, earning a convincing 41–3 victory and continuing to build momentum as the season progresses. The Lakers controlled the dual from the opening whistle, highlighted by several key individual performances. Logan McDonald (141 lbs) delivered an emphatic win, scoring a first-period technical fall that set the tone and energized the lineup.

 At 157 pounds, Vinny Costabillo battled through a tough, back-and-forth match and secured the win in overtime, showing composure and competitiveness in a pressure situation. In the upper weights, Jeremiah Chuol capped off the night with a strong showing at heavyweight, earning an 11–7 decision to add valuable team points. Several other Lakers also contributed to the victory as Iowa Lakes continued to stack wins throughout the dual.

 

Head Coach Corey Meyer was pleased with both the results and the approach."We wrestled aggressively and stayed composed in tight moments," Meyer said. "These are the kinds of matches that help us keep growing as a team."
