IOWA LAKES ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES TAYLOR MENZIES AS THE NEW HEAD WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACH

(Estherville, Iowa) Iowa Lakes Community College welcomes Taylor Menzies as the new head coach of the women's volleyball program, pending Board approval. Menzies brings a strong background in collegiate volleyball as a player and a coach and is eager to lead the Lakers to new heights.

"We are excited for Taylor to join the Iowa Lakes athletics family," said Iowa Lakes Athletic Director Troy Larson. "Her background as a player and a coach will bring valuable experience to our volleyball program, helping our student-athletes grow and succeed.

Originally from Clever, MO, Menzies was a multi-sport athlete at Clever High School, earning numerous accolades before continuing her volleyball career at Southeastern Community College (SCC) in West Burlington, Iowa. At SCC, she earned all-conference and all-region honors in both seasons and currently ranks in the top five in multiple statistical categories, including blocks and kills.

Menzies continued her playing career at Keiser University in West Palm Beach, FL, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Sports Management and Psychology. As a leader on the volleyball court, Menzies helped the team secure back-to-back conference championships and played an important role in Keiser's first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament appearance in 2021. She furthered her education at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, earning a Master's in Sports Management in 2024.

Menzies began her collegiate coaching career in 2022 as an assistant coach at SCC before taking the head coaching role at NAIA Mission University from 2023 to 2025. While at Mission, she developed the volleyball program from the ground up. In her first season, she led the team to an appearance in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament. In her second season, she guided the program to its first-ever appearance in the NAIA and the American Midwest Conference, finishing fifth out of 12 teams. Under her leadership, the program produced three all-conference and one all-region players.

"I am thrilled to join Iowa Lakes as the head women's volleyball coach!" said Menzies. "I strive to create a vibrant culture where student-athletes excel in academics and athletics. I am dedicated to taking the program to new heights, inspiring excellence, and achieving success together as a team. I am so excited for this new chapter."
