October 9, 2025 | Estherville, Iowa – The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team battled hard but came up short on Wednesday night, falling to North Iowa Area Community College in four sets (11-25, 25-14, 15-25, 23-25) in Mason City.

The Lakers found momentum in the second set, responding with a dominant 25-14 win to even the match at one apiece, but NIACC's offense proved too strong down the stretch as the Trojans closed out the final two sets.

Freshman Briana Cunnigan-Little led the Lakers offensively with 14 kills on a .243 hitting percentage. Brooke White followed with 11 kills, while Kajsa Bates and Aysia Heard each added seven—with Heard posting an impressive .462 hitting percentage on the night. Freshman setter Rylie Miller contributed 21 assists, 11 digs, and a service ace.

Defensively, libero Lorin Turkdogan anchored the back row with a team-high 21 digs, while Lily Kunselman added seven.

The Lakers now sit at 8–19 overall and 2–6 in ICCAC play. Iowa Lakes will return home on Monday, October 13, to host Dakota State JV at 3:00 p.m. in the Estherville Gymnasium.
