October 29, 2025 | Estherville, Iowa – The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team wrapped up its 2025 season on Wednesday night with a road loss to Ellsworth Community College (22–25, 23–25, 14–25).
The Lakers finish the year with an overall record of 11–21 and 4–8 in ICCAC conference play under Head Coach Taylor Menzies and Assistant Coach Katelyn Nichols.
Throughout the fall, Iowa Lakes showcased determination, resilience, and steady improvement, competing in a challenging conference and a full slate of regional tournaments. The Lakers picked up notable wins over Marshalltown CC, Southwestern, Western Iowa Tech, and Hawkeye Community College in conference action, along with non-conference victories against Joliet Junior College, St. Cloud Technical & Community College, and John Wood Community College.
"Our group showed a lot of growth this season," said Coach Menzies. "We played a tough schedule and continued to compete and battle in every match. The way our athletes improved and supported one another from August to October is something to be proud of."
The Lakers' season was highlighted by strong leadership from their sophomores and standout contributions from several underclassmen who stepped into key roles.
Assistant Coach Katelyn Nichols added, "Watching this team grow over the course of the season has been incredible. Every player gave their best effort, and the experience they gained will pay off next year."
With a core of returning players and valuable experience gained throughout the season, Iowa Lakes looks to build on this year's progress heading into 2026.
