Iowa Lakes Softball Excels in Classroom

The Iowa Lakes Softball team not only got it done on the field this season, but also in the classroom. They saw fourteen student-athletes named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. To be eligible, the student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the 2021-2022 academic year. The student-athletes to receive this award are: Alexa McCunn, Alyssa Thorson, Amanda Franke, Baylee O'Donnell, Brielle Bartelt, Bryn Bohmann, Eliya Johnson, Kaitlin Roundy, Kiley Hill, Lexi Chase, MacKenna Jones, Mackenna Otte, Olivia Funk, and Paige Grafton.

 

In addition, there were fourteen Iowa Lakes Softball members named to the spring Iowa Lakes Community College academic lists. Adrienne Rosfjord, Alexa McCunn, Alyssa Thorson, Eliya Johnson, Lexi Chase, MacKenna Jones, and Olivia Funk were all named to the Iowa Lakes Community College President's list. To qualify for this honor, students have to earn a 4.0 GPA in the semester. Amanda Franke, Baylee O'Donnell, Brielle Bartelt, Kaitlin Roundy, Kiley Hill, Mackenna Otte, and Paige Grafton were named to the spring Iowa Lakes Community College Dean's list. To qualify for this award, students must earn a GPA between 3.25 and 3.99.

 

"This year's team was something special. Not only were they able to see success on the field, but also in the classroom. They are a great example of the type of student-athletes that we recruit at Iowa Lakes. Their dedication and hard work off the field is just as strong as on the field. They are all-around good people that proved character counts." Commented Coach King.
