A couple of Lady Lakers made the Region XI All-Tournament team in 2016. Tessa Calabria (ST) of Adelaide, Australia and Jennifer Romero (CM) were the two Lakers in the All-Tournament selection.
Coach Viedenkamp had this to say about Calabria, "Tessa has been fantastic for us all season. She is very consistent in her performances; it was great to see her finally get her hat-trick against Dakota County in the quarterfinals that she desperately wanted all season. She has great tactical understanding of the game and it shows. This award is well deserved for her."
Jennifer, who has played several positions all year, finished the season as a center midfielder for the Lakers. "Jennifer is a player that any coach would gladly take. She has a very good foundation of skills, and she is even better off the ball. Her ability to read the game defensively and her simple style of play is why I stuck her in the center midfield role to end the season. She sat in behind our other two center mids and just mopped everything up. She has great understanding of the game, and it shows in her versatility as a player. Her last games as a Laker were her best, I wish her nothing but the best at the next level," said Viedenkamp.
