The Iowa Lakes Women's Soccer team is looking forward to getting started this season. Coach Abbey Miller is set to take over the program this season after serving as a graduate assistant and then assistant coach. Coach Miller has emphasized building team chemistry and consistently competing every day in the early part of the season.
The Lakers will be relying on leadership from holding center midfielder Laura Cardenas, attacking center midfielder Alexis Vasquez, and center back Abit Thompson.
Some key aspects the Lakers have been working on include defensive shape and transition in practice.

The Lakers open their season Thursday, August 19th vs Laramie County in Cheyenne, WY.
The Lakers have their first home game on Saturday, September 4th as they host Southeastern Community College at 3:00pm at the Spencer Soccer Complex.
